Dear Mr. Preu: We enjoyed the Spokane Symphony concert today, April 30, 2006, in which Bach and Handel were performed. My wife's Father sang in the Dresdner Kreuzchor from 1904-1913, he was about the ten, like yourself when he began.. My wife was born in Aue and lived in Vach uber Nurnberg. She attended Erlangen University, which had many connections with the Bamburg Symphony. We live in Osburn, ID and hope to attend the Spokane Symphony performanmce in Comstock Park in September. Your love of music is really appreciated. |

Hello Eckart Preu! I don't know exactly how, but I believe we are related. Now, don't delete this and think I'm some wierd person...I'm not. I promise. My mother's maiden name is Preu. It is my understanding that the Preu name can be traced all the way back to when last names were first handed out to families. The Preu name was only given to one family. Thus, anyone with that name must somehow be a relative. I put the Preu name in a google search one day and found your site. You sound like an amazingly talented conductor!! That also fits our Silesian heritage. It's interesting to see your picture and think that we are somehow, someway, related. If you would like to write back, I'd love to hear from you and hear more about you and your family. Until then, good luck with everything and keep making beautiful music! Amy J. Canady |

| I have noticed your ability to transcend barriers that separate so many people from each other through your music. You have a unique ability to bridge the elite with the layman, for example. Is this part of your own personal philosophy regarding the concept of the 'hero?' | |
